If you hear grinding when you turn your Jeep and you seem to be pulling harder to make turns, you may want to check your steering fluid and pump. The Crown Automotive Power Steering Pump is a direct replacement for the CJ's mechanical pump installed at the factory. Driven by a pulley and belt (engine specific, not included), the simple design can still go bad over time. Seals and bearings can go bad allowing fluid to leak out and allowing the internal impeller to move erratically, which in turn reduces the pumps effectiveness. Replace the pump and get your Jeeps full range of steering back.
