The Crown Automotive Steering Damper is a factory replacement for when you are restoring your Jeeps steering system. The steering stabilizer dampens the vibrations from the road so you do not feel them up at the wheel, making for a smooth driving experience. When the oil leaks out over time, the shock is allowed to move in and out without resistance and you feel the rumble at the wheel. If left unfixed for a long period, you could do damage to other more expensive parts like the steering gear box.
