The Jeeps suspension has a lot going on to keep the axles from veering off on their own. The Crown Automotive Rear Track Bar is a factory replacement that keeps the rear axle centered under the body. Along with the control arms and sway bar links, the rear axle is attached to the frame via the track bar with creates a stiff-arm effect, keeping the axle from moving left or right while driving straight. When the bar is bent or the bushings go bad, the axle is not tracking straight and puts strain on the rest of the suspension, it also makes the ride unstable and over bumps can make it feel out of control.
