G2 Axle & Gear is proud to introduce their new CORE 44 axle housing for ‘87-'95 Wrangler YJ & 84-01 Cherokee XJ. Utilizing the strongest and latest generation Dana 44 gear design, they have developed a whole new housing that allows you to upgrade from a Dana 35 or Chrysler 8-1/4" rear axle. Their housings are engineered to be as close to a direct bolt-in replacement for a Dana 35 or Chrysler 8-1/4" rear and will accept stock brakes. They include 3” x .250” thick wall tubing to prevent bending with your choice of gear ratio and locker. All brackets are designed around stock mounting points and are laser cut and CNC formed from 3/8” steel for added strength. G2 has also gusseted and reinforced any weak points to prevent damage to the brackets. Their housing features a unique adjuster nut system to set back lash and carrier bearing preload.
