Mounted on the frame above the rear spring is your YJ's factory bump stop. The Crown Automotive Rear Axle Bump Stop replaces the original when it has worn out or fallen off. Identical to the original, this rubber jounce bumper is attached to a metal mounting plate that screws to the frame. The bump stop limits the axle travel when moving over uneven terrain. With missing or incorrect bump stops you could pull out fuel or brake lines or "bottom out" over every bump.
