Vapor canisters should last the life of the Jeep but some conditions may cause them to fail prematurely. If you are having a problem with your emissions system and you have lost fuel economy or have the heavy smell of fuel around your JK, you may need a new Mopar Vapor Canister. If your Wrangler spends a lot of time sitting in the sun without cycling through tanks of fuel, your vapor canister may have been overworked and can no longer handle the task. If the vapor canister is congested then vapors cannot make their way back to the engine to get burned and the system cannot function properly.
