Warning: Lock does not come pre-keyed, and must be manually fit to your vehicle's key. This process takes extensive trial and error. If the lock is not keyed correctly, the fuel cap cannot be removed from your Jeep. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND taking this to your local Jeep dealership or locksmith for installation. Keys and tumblers (wafers) are not included and will need to be purchased locally.
Jeeps CJ and Wrangler style vehicles have never had fuel doors, and with that originality comes the unfortunate chance that someone may tamper with your fuel. The Mopar Locking Fuel Tank Cap is an added layer of protection for your JK Wrangler, so someone cannot just come along and spin your cap off. When the cylinder is disengaged the cap just spins freely. Insert the ignition key into the cap, grip the cap firmly and turn the key. Now that your cap is engaged you can fill your tank. The cylinder for this cap does not come coded to your key, so you will have to take this to a professional to have keyed.
