Vintage Air Gen5 SureFit Complete A/C Kit 1987-1990 Jeep YJ (Serpentine) represents the pinnacle of aftermarket climate control engineering, purpose-built for owners of the iconic 1987 to 1990 Jeep YJ who demand maximum cooling performance without compromise.
At the heart of this system is Vintage Air's 5th Generation SureFit technology, an exclusively designed, fully electronic microprocessor-controlled platform that eliminates the need for any cables or vacuum connections. The result is a cleaner, more reliable installation that delivers precise climate control at the touch of a dial. Separate, state-of-the-art high-density aluminum heat exchangers are engineered to pack the most possible performance into your dash space, ensuring rapid cabin cooling even under the most demanding conditions.
This complete kit leaves nothing to chance. Everything needed for a full under-hood and in-cabin installation is included: compressor with engine brackets, condenser with brackets, preformed refrigerant lines, drier, fittings, hardware, and full installation instructions. The injection molded case guarantees optimal precision, strength, and dimensional consistency, while injection molded blend air doors with integral rubber seals provide long-lasting, leak-resistant performance. Removable access covers make coil servicing straightforward, saving time and effort down the road.
Vibration and noise have been addressed through rubber well-nut mounting points that isolate the system for improved NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance, keeping the interior quieter than ever. The high-capacity A/C and heater coils work alongside a blend air door for rapid vent temperature adjustment, and the quiet high-performance blower ensures consistent airflow without cabin noise intrusion. Powder coated steel mounting brackets add durability and corrosion resistance.
Additional highlights include an OEM block-type expansion valve for consistent refrigerant metering, improved diagnostics with advanced systematic fail safes for added peace of mind, and variable blower speed along with dash, floor, and defrost blend modes. New rotary controls are included for a clean, finished look. Backed by a 3-year warranty with the option to extend coverage by an additional 2 years, this kit is a true investment in long-term comfort and reliability for your Jeep YJ.
