The factory 195 degree thermostat simply cycles open and closed, this reduces cooling efficiency in any engine. With the JET 180 degree thermostat you get consistent engine cooling and a precise metering of water throughout the engine. Constructed of stainless steel the JET Thermostat offers a lifetime warranty.
There are times when the factory supplied equipment just cannot handle the job. If your Jeep is consistently overheating due to the ambient climate or the heavy loads you are hauling, the Jet Performance 180° Low Temperature Thermostat may be the trick you have been missing. The factory thermostats are engineered to open at 195°, which may be too late for the engine to cool the fluid and keep it cool. The Jet Thermostat is a direct replacement, designed to open up sooner, allowing the coolant to run through the radiator and stay away from the overheating point, usually around 210°-215°, where water boils.
