Genuine Factory Replacement: Holes will line up and hardware from your old tailgate will work seamlessly as this is a part from the original factory that built the Jeep JK.
Paintable Primer Coat: Applied at the factory to protect from corrosion during storage and shipment, minor surface work will need to be done prior to painting.
Factory Strength: Engineered to hold factory third brake light and tire carrier with a 32" maximum tire size.

The hollow steel tailgate on a Jeep Wrangler is not intended to hold a lot of weight. If you have larger tires or use bike racks frequently you may have noticed that your tailgate shell is starting to crack at the welds. The Mopar Steel Tailgate will reset the damage and restore your Jeep to its factory look. The tailgate has been pre-drilled to accept the factory hardware, latches and hinges; as well as had a paintable primer coat applied at the factory to shorten prep time and protect the steel while in storage and transit.
