Easily snaps onto the body of the Jeep on the driver side near the tailgate to grip the tailgate bar that slides onto the rear window. Without a clip, the corner cannot be pulled tight and water could get into the cargo area. Keep your Jeep dry and you soft top in good shape with the proper equipment from the factory.
